Here are the most common installation issues and troubles that we have encountered from merchants. While this is by no means a complete list of issues, they are definitely the ones we hear about most often.
Your variant "Duration" is incorrect
When you are setting up your product to be used as a service in Sesami, there is a section called "Variants" which you must set up correctly. Currently, Sesami can only read “Duration” as the option name.
- The variant must be spelled "Duration".
- The options for the variant must be in the following format: "15 minutes", "1 hour", or "30". (replacing the number with your own number).

You don't have time available for your team member
In order for Sesami to work, you must have time availabilities assigned to your team member. You can do this under:
Sesami > Team > [click on a team member] > Availability
And don't forget to hit that all-important save button.
You didn't activate Sesami into your Shopify Online Store 2.0 theme
If your Shopify theme is one of 2.0, you must embed the Sesami app to the theme and add the Sesami block to the Product.
You will need to Embed the Sesami app into your Shopify Theme and then Add the Sesami block to the Products.

You have another booking calendar app installed
Uninstall other booking applications on your Shopify account before using Sesami.
It could be very confusing when there are multiple booking applications on the same account and errors from other applications can easily be mistaken as Sesami. In order to mitigate these confusions, we ask that you simply uninstall the other applications.
You don't have a Shopify plan or it is only set to Shopify Lite
In order for Sesami to work, it needs an online store to embed. You will need to be on one of the following Shopify plans: Basic Shopify, Shopify, or Advanced Shopify.
The Shopify Lite plan is for anyone who wants to sell products without maintaining an online store.
You are viewing your site in preview mode
You might be viewing your site in preview mode. Sesami will only function if the entire site is rendered by Shopify.
You can quickly check by looking at your browser URL bar and if there is the word, "preview" anywhere, you are not in the right place.
You have theme issues (but don't worry)
Not all themes work out of the box with Sesami due to the infinite number of ways a theme can be structured. If you find you have followed the installation guide and still could not get Sesami to function on your site, you will need to manually install the Sesami code:
